Default changing nameservers with godaddy

You have just signed up for a hosting account at Buy-Host Hosting using a domain name you have registered via GoDaddy. When you are ready to have your domain start resolving to your Buy-Host Hosting account you will need to update the nameservers associated with your domain via GoDaddy.

This change can be performed directly by the domain owner via the GoDaddy website. The steps to take are:

- Go to the GoDaddy site at http://www.godaddy.com
- Click the "My Account" link
- Enter your Login Name or Customer Number and click the Login button
- Under "Manage Your Accounts" pull down the drop down menu next to the domain you wish to modify and select "Name Servers"
- Click "Go"
- Make your name server changes

To set the domain up so that we handle the DNS put the Buy-Host Hosting name servers in place:

- After "Name Server 1:" enter ns1.buy-host.com
- After "Name Server 2:" enter ns2.buy-host.com
- Click the "Save Changes" button to record your changes

You're done. At this point it's just a matter of time until your domain begins to resolve to your Buy-Host Hosting account. On average it takes around 24 - 72 hours for name server changes to propogate and sometimes longer. During the initial period after a name server change it's not uncommon depending on their location and what ISP they are using for some visitors to successfully reach the new location while others may still find the domain to resolve to the old location (if any). This is due to the fact that the time it takes for news of the name server change to reach all of the DNS servers worldwide varies.
