Here are some more tips for an successfull forum.

1) When you code yourself make sure you dont leave holes that grands hackers or user acces to the Administration Panel.
2) Make sure you test your forum before you open it for public.
3) Make sure that you have enough choice of styles. Everyone has his own taste.
4) Make sure your rules are clear enough so that nobody has to break them..
5) make sure the rules are easy to see.. Make a Announcement with the link or the rules in it...
6) Have a good moderation team. The best teams are selected trough a special form that they must fill out. And another tip for a good team is to have moderators all over the world so that the forum can be moderated 24/7.
7) Make an General Section where can be talked about anything so your forum stays active and make in that section a Spam House to so the spam will be reducted in your forum.
8) I know you may have friends on your forum but make sure you handle them the same way you would handle any other member on the forum. For example. You have put a rule that no one may beg/pm for a position in the Staff or else they will be banned or warned and your friends does it. Punish him the same way you would do to other members.
9) Check out every section as Admin and even if you dont know nothing about the subject try to learn of it.
10) You may be an Admin but DO NOT feel any smarter of it. If a member or even a newcomer knows it better LEARN from it. DO NOT flame him and say its not...
11) Have every now and then Events for more activity and satisfaction of your members. Have good prices at the end or else the members will be dissapointed anyway.
12) Have a Staff Only section so that the staff has an place to chill out and discuss things that members doesnt concern.
13) If you have ranks make sure you have Apart ranks for private stuff and Ranks that you must pay for. When people pay for it make sure they have apart sections too.
14) When you recieved the money do not swindle the members, make sure they have more functions and attractive things. Use the money for example to pay for your forum.
